Chamber Music at Merit
 
Program Level: High intermediate to advanced
Ages: 9 - 18 years
Open to students enrolled in the Alice S. Pfaelzer Tuiton-free Conservatory by audition only.

Chamber music provides students an opportunity to learn teamwork and to share musical ideas with their peers in small ensembles. Students participate in weekly rehearsals with coaching by members of Merit's faculty.

Chamber ensembles perform in Winter and Spring chamber music concerts, and select groups will play in the annual Honors Recital. Additional performances will be scheduled throughout the year. Past ensembles have performed on national and local television and radio programs, in schools and community centers, in chamber music competitions and at events throughout the city and suburbs of Chicago.

Chamber Music honors include:

• 1st place: Rembrandt Chamber Players High School Chamber Music Competition
• 1st place: Midwest Young Artists Chicago National Chamber Music Competition
• Appearance on From the Top-Live from Carnegie Hall
• Performances on WFMT's radio program, Introductions

Schedule
