Merit College Advising Program (MCAP)

One of Merit’s primary objectives is to help students use their musical talents to gain admission to college. Each year, nearly 100% of our Conservatory seniors go on to college.

There are four interactive college information sessions offered in Merit's computer lab each school year, which allow all Merit students to explore online resources related to colleges and careers. Topics include: interest inventory/college majors, college exploration, scholarship search, and college preparation.

Merit’s college counselor organizes several group seminars for high school students and their parents. The counselor is also available to meet individually with students and their families, free of charge, to discuss such important topics as proper college selection and the financial aid process. In addition, Merit's music library provides resources for students to learn more about different colleges and college scholarships.
