Private Lesson Scholarships

Private lessons are an important component of musical progress and success. Merit is proud to be able to offer annual private lesson scholarships to outstanding Tuition-free Conservatory students through the generosity of our various private lesson donors:

  • The Ann R. Monaco Scholarship
  • The Alice S. Pfaelzer Scholarship
  • The Katherine Loewenthal Scholarship
  • The Bonnie G. and Andrew M. Stein Scholarships
  • The Susan H. Wallace Scholarship in Piano
  • The Dr. Manuel L. Stillerman Scholarship in violin
  • The Victor deGrazia Endowed Scholarship

Most of these scholarships are based on a juried competition, and all winners receive a cash award that is applied toward private lesson study.

The Linny and Angel Fund Private Lesson Scholarships are based on teacher recognition of student commitment, musical progress and proven financial need, and award many students with substantially lower private lesson rates.
