Getting to Merit

Merit School of Music is conveniently located in Chicago's West Loop and is easily accessible by both car and public transportation.

From 90/94
Exit at Madison Street. Go west to Peoria Street and turn south. Continue to 38 South Peoria Street.

From 290
Take 290, exit 29A (Racine Ave.). Go north on Racine Avenue. Turn right on Monroe Street. Take Monroe Street to Peoria Street and turn left. Continue ½ block to 38 South Peoria Street.

Public Transportation
Take Brown, Orange, Green or Purple line CTA trains to downtown. Take the #20 Madison Street bus to the corner of Madison Street and Peoria Street. Walk ½ block south to 38 South Peoria Street.

Take Forest Park/O'Hare Blue Line train to UIC/Halsted stop. Exit through the Peoria Street stairway and walk 3 ½ blocks north to 38 South Peoria Street.

Parking

Metered and un-metered street parking is available nearby, in addition to a number of pay lots. The closest pay lots to Merit are one block east, on Green Street, (evening and weekend rate $5) and ½ block south on Peoria (evening and weekend rate $4).

Handicap-accessible parking is available in Merit's permit lot at the north end of the building.

Paid parking is also available in Merit's permit lot, located at the north end of the building. You must have a permit to park in this lot. Permits may be acquired and fee paid at the front desk in Merit's main lobby. Space is limited.
