As a Merit Volunteer, you will:
- Support Merit's mission to provide high-quality music education to Chicago area students, helping them realize their full musical potential.

- May 7, 2008: Kaleidoscope Concert
Kaleidoscope is an annual concert featuring student performers from
Merit's Preparatory and Dynamic Starts programs.
- Assist with merchandise and food sales.
- Help staff coordinate performers backstage and assist with stage set-up.
- Serve as an usher in the recital hall during performances.
- June
- June 7, 2008: Auditions for Merit Summer Music Festival
Volunteers will assist Merit's faculty and staff with administrative
tasks at auditions. This is a great way to become more familiar with
Merit, our faculty and staff, students and families.
Ongoing Opportunities:
- Private Lesson Recitals' Saturdays, Mid-January through June
Assist Merit's Private Lesson Director with room set-up and ushering as you enjoy performances by students in Merit's private lesson program. Please call or email to discuss dates and times.
- Administrative work
Assist Merit's full-time administrative staff with a variety of administrative tasks including mailings, database entry, etc.
- Library Volunteering
Volunteer in Merit's Glasser-Rosenthal Library and assist the full-time librarian with assisting students, cataloging materials and other library-related projects. Opportunities are available during the week and on Saturdays.
- Tutoring
Help a student achieve academic success. Volunteer to tutor a young student through MeritÂ’s new after-school tutoring program. Tutoring currently takes place on Thursday evenings in MeritÂ’s library.
