Winter Dynamic Starts classes will begin the week of February 11, 2008. Tuition is $195, plus a $10 registration fee. Register now for brass, woodwind and string Dynamic Starts classes by completing and submitting an application along with your $10 registration fee.

Through small group instruction, our expert faculty encourages beginning and early intermediate Dynamic Starts students to get excited about learning an instrument. Your student will learn the musical fundamentals that are essential to every student’s education. Small group classes also provide students with the opportunity to further develop social skills as they play and interact with other young musicians and teachers. The age requirements for each instrument are as follows:

• Ages 5-12: violin, viola, and fife
• Ages 6-12: piano
• Ages 7-12: cello
• Ages 9-12: guitar, cello, flute, clarinet, french horn, percussion, trumpet, trombone, saxophone and string bass

After the first year of study, most students continue their musical development in Dynamic Starts Enriched for another one to two years to prepare to audition for Merit’s comprehensive intermediate-level program, the Preparatory Program.
