Nina Stillman

“I was recently asked by a friend why, while I am still healthy and in my 50's, I have made specific bequests in my will. Although I hope to continue actively contributing to Merit for many years to come, I also realize that life can be full of surprises and not all of them are pleasant. So when I recently did my estate planning periodic review, I decided that I wanted to ensure that Merit would receive the support I fully intend to give to this wonderful organization, no matter what unpleasant surprises may come my way. Like the children it serves, Merit is constantly growing and needs to be nurtured. By making a bequest to Merit as part of my estate planning, I know that I will have the opportunity to be a part of that process even if I am not here. That is remarkably comforting as well as greatly satisfying.”

As a member of Merit School of Music’s Board of Trustees since January of 2000, Nina Stillman provides support to Merit in many ways. Nina participates in Merit’s Annual Fund, Merit events such as the Gala and Carnaval, and the Capital Campaign, which gave Merit it’s new home. Not only is she active in all of these financial endeavors, recently Nina became a member of the Emma Endres-Kountz Society. Nina decided to bequest a gift to Merit in her will. We asked Nina if she would share with potential donors the reasons why she chose to make a plan gift.
