Piano students: If you would like to request a certain day from the above choices please indicate such on your application. Due to the large volume of scheduling requests, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate your request, but we will do our best to work with you to find a class that will work with your schedule.

Instrument

All students in the Preparatory Program must have an instrument to practice at home. Merit is pleased to offer rentals for scholarship students through its Music Library for a charge of $25 for year. Please contact Jana Borchardt at 312.267.4487 to arrange for an instrument.

Tuition

Solo Preparatory Program — $995 includes a $15 registration fee
Tutti Preparatory Program — $770 includes a $15 registration fee
Partial Preparatory Program (choir only) — $275 includes a $15 registration fee

Scholarships

More that 95% of Merit students receive financial assistance. Scholarships are awarded on a sliding scale, based on proof of income. Click here for information on applying for a scholarship.

Payment

One half of your balance must be paid on or before the first day of classes. The second half of your balance is due on February 11, the start of the second semester. Please note that students with unpaid first semester balances will not be able to continue until their balances have been paid in full.
